ErgoMotion Mouse Review & Giveaway

Are you looking for the perfect gift for the man on your Christmas shopping lift? If he spends a lot of time at the computer like my husband does then I recommend checking out the “ErgoMotion Laser Mouse from Smartfish Technologies.”

The ErgoMotion Laser Mouse from Smartfish Technologies is a slightly larger than normal computer mouse that is mounted on a unique pivoting base and moves with your natural hand and wrist positions. The mouse was specifically designed to help alleviate carpal tunnel, so it is the perfect choice for those who experience wrist pain while using a computer for hours on end.

Smartfish Technologies gave me the opportunity to try out and review their “ErgoMotion Laser Mouse.”

As a computer programmer my husband spends a great amount of time at the computer. He has days where his hands and wrists are really hurting. Having underwent surgery in 2006 to relieve numbness in all four of his fingers and regain mobility and feeling to his hand,  I thought the mouse would be perfect for him.

My husband has been using the mouse now for over a week, so I thoughtthat he should write the review.

ErgoMotion Laser Mouse

His thoughts:

The ErgoMotion Laser Mouse, has a nice design, and is very easy to install. Simply add the batteries to the mouse and turn the switch to on, and then plug in the nano transceiver to one of your USB ports and it installs automatically. Very plug and play compatible, which makes this laser mouse very appealing.

I also liked the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse feature of being able to turn off the mouse when not in use to reserve my battery life. The packaging of the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse states you should get up to 10 months battery life. It will be interesting to see how long the batteries really last.

I also liked the fact that the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse is attached to a pedestal style base that rotates in either directions making it very comfortable to use for any period of time, as it fits to the rang and angel of your hand and wrist.

I would however like to see it fit my hand a little better, as it’s almost a flat top mouse design, where I like something that fits closer to the palm of my hand. The ErgoMotion Laser Mouse is great for Laptop / Netbook users and even those who have a desktop computer as long as the PC tower is not on the floor or in a cabinet.

When using it in my PC tower I found the the signal rang was not very good for me, “as my desktop computer sits on the floor,” under my desk. I periodically would loose signal, so the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse wouldn’t move as freely as it should. It would kind of stutter across my screen or not scroll at.

I also tried the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse in my HP Pavilion 9600 laptop, and it worked great with no problems at all, not even a hiccup. Overall I was very pleased with the product and recommend the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse to anyone,  as it’s very comfortable to use, easy to install and I really enjoyed the way it would move with my hand automatically adjusting to my style of motion.

Buy It: You can get your ErgoMotion Laser Mouse at Amazon for $49.99.

Smartfish also carries the ErgoMotion™ Keyboard, the world’s first intelligent keyboard that prevents Repetitive Stress Injury. The keyboard features a patented motion system that studies your typing frequency and subtly changes your hand and wrist position while you work. Now that would be cool.
